Wiper blades represent a very important part of any car as they enable driving in the rain and bad weather, and clean the windscreen from dirt.
The main part of wiper blades is the wiper blade rubber that has a direct contact with the windscreen and, which, therefore, must ensure a perfect wiping performance, without leaving streaks of water or mist, which could disturb the driver while driving. The second main part of wiper blades is the frame, which can be either conventional or modern – so called flat frame (frameless). It consists of spring steel, whose purpose is to ensure excellent adhesion to the windscreen, as well as constant pressure of the wiper blade rubber to the windscreen.
Wiper blades are attached to the wiper arms, while wiper arms are further attached to the wiper mechanism, which is powered by an electric motor. All modern vehicles have an option that allows the driver to set the wiping speed. Some vehicles are nowadays available with driver-programmable intelligent windscreen wipers that detect the presence and amount of rain using a rain sensor.
